Thank you for your interest in joining the Atlas for MMI team. Our goal is to create a rewarding and enjoyable tutoring experience while helping students achieve their dreams of admission into Canadian medical and dental schools.

This role is fully online, flexible, and designed for tutors who are passionate about mentorship, education, professionalism, and student success. We are building a team of dedicated educators who believe in the transformative power of quality coaching at one of the most important moments in a student's academic journey.

Each tutor receives a personalized booking page, giving students a direct and professional way to schedule sessions.

Flexible availability
You set your own hours and customize your availability freely. It is your responsibility to keep your calendar accurate and to track your hours to avoid scheduling conflicts.

Sessions over Zoom
All tutoring is conducted online via Zoom. Sessions are generally one hour long. All times are displayed in Saskatchewan Time.

First step
30-minute introductory phone call
A phone call with Atlas management where we review position expectations, responsibilities, scheduling, compensation, and any questions or concerns you may have. This is a chance for both of us to ensure the role is the right fit.

Second step
Orientation video
Tutors complete a comprehensive onboarding and orientation video covering Atlas teaching standards, session structure, communication expectations, scheduling systems, and student feedback methods. This video takes approximately one hour to complete.

Third step
Two-month paid assessment and training period
Starting October 1st, 2026, tutors begin receiving paid tutoring opportunities and train alongside experienced instructors. Teaching quality and professionalism are assessed throughout this period, and tutors gradually transition into independent teaching. The goal is to prepare every tutor to confidently deliver high-quality coaching sessions. Atlas for MMI reserves the right to discontinue the employment contract with tutors during this period.

Bi-weekly tutor meetings

Tutors are required to attend mandatory check-in meetings once every two weeks. These meetings ensure tutor alignment, quality consistency, and open communication across the team.

Discuss student progress, share feedback, review challenges, maintain consistency across tutoring quality, and coordinate with management and other tutors.

Punctuality policy

Professionalism and reliability are core expectations at Atlas. The following policy applies when a tutor arrives late to a scheduled session.

Scenario Consequence
1 to 5 minutes late Tutor apologizes and extends the session by 5 minutes.
5 to 15 minutes late Tutor provides 30 additional minutes of tutoring.
More than 15 minutes late Tutor provides 1 full additional hour of tutoring.
All compensation tutoring time is unpaid by Atlas and is the tutor's responsibility to provide.

Training & assessment

Paid two-month training period
During the training period, tutors receive active tutoring opportunities, train alongside experienced instructors, receive structured feedback and evaluations, and gradually build the confidence and consistency needed to deliver exceptional sessions independently. After successful completion, tutors continue as active instructors for the remainder of the admission cycle.

Optional practice sessions
Tutors may optionally participate in additional compensated practice opportunities throughout the cycle to sharpen their skills and gain more experience.

Additional teaching opportunities

In addition to regular one-on-one tutoring, tutors are invited to participate in two recurring weekly events. Participation is optional but highly encouraged as a way to build experience and contribute to the broader Atlas community.

Tutors run practice stations, provide real-time feedback, and support collaborative student preparation in a group format.

Tutors conduct full mock interview circuits, evaluate students, and provide detailed scoring and structured written feedback.

Teacher compensation plan

Hourly rates are determined by cumulative hours worked within an admission cycle. As you accumulate experience and demonstrate consistency, your compensation increases automatically.

Eligibility requirements

Attendance
No more than 2 no-shows during the admission cycle to remain eligible for tier progression.
Punctuality
No more than 4 late arrivals during the admission cycle across all scheduled sessions.
Performance
Minimum average student satisfaction rating of 8.5 out of 10 as reported by session feedback.

Tutors must submit banking information before payments can be processed. Please have one of the following documents ready when you onboard.

Tax information & payroll requirements

After successfully completing the training period, tutors must submit required tax and payroll information so Atlas can issue T4 tax slips and process payroll correctly. Required information may include your SIN and payroll forms, tax documentation, and banking information.

Failure to submit required information may delay payroll processing.

Contract highlights

The following sections summarize key provisions of the Atlas tutor employment contract. We encourage all applicants to review the full contract document carefully before signing.

Tutors are compensated at an hourly rate determined by their cumulative hours within a cycle. The base rate starts at $30 CAD per hour and increases through tier milestones at 30, 60, and 100 hours. Payment is processed monthly via direct deposit.
Tutors may adjust their availability to accommodate personal time off. All schedule changes must be communicated to Atlas management with adequate notice. The contract outlines any required minimum availability expectations throughout the season.
Tutors are required to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all student information, session content, proprietary teaching materials, and internal company processes. Confidentiality obligations survive the end of the employment term.
Tutors agree not to solicit Atlas students for private tutoring arrangements outside of the Atlas platform, either during or following the contract term. This protects the integrity of the Atlas student community.
Tutors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including work with competing organizations or external coaching services. Atlas reserves the right to address conflicts that could compromise the quality or integrity of services delivered to students.
All student personal information collected during sessions or through administrative processes is treated with the highest level of privacy. Tutors must not share, distribute, or discuss student data outside of approved Atlas communication channels.
Tutors are expected to conduct all sessions from a quiet, professional-looking environment with a stable internet connection. Sessions are held via Zoom, and tutors are responsible for ensuring their audio and video quality meets Atlas standards.
Atlas reserves the right to terminate the contract during the training period or at any point during the cycle if performance or conduct standards are not met. Tutors may also resign with appropriate notice as outlined in the contract.
This contract is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Any disputes arising from this agreement will be resolved under Saskatchewan jurisdiction.
Tutors agree not to provide private interview coaching to Atlas students outside of the Atlas platform. This restriction applies during the contract term and for a defined period following its conclusion.
All teaching materials, session frameworks, evaluation rubrics, and program content developed by or in association with Atlas are the exclusive intellectual property of Atlas Interview Preparation Inc. Tutors may not reproduce, share, or distribute this content outside of approved channels.
